This listing is for one ring - size R 1/2 with the platinum jubilee hall mark for 2022 (see final photos of how these look on other pieces, and the explanation of what each punch means)
This ring weighs about 8.5 grams, has a width of 9.5mm, scalloped edges and a flare of 2.5mm - 6.1mm at the front.Named for one of my favourite literary characters (Leine Basso), this ring has a lovely, clear and vibrant faceted, freeform kyanite set into a separate band, that has a pair of flattened balls either side. I've shaped this to echo the anticlastic bangles I make.
I've also applied liver of sulphur as a patination. I made myself one similar, and have worn it pretty much constantly for 5 months, including whilst at the beach. The patination will wear in the areas that rub your skin, but if you keep it clear of chemicals, it should last for a very long time. My ring is looking pretty much as oxidised as it was when I made it.
All the silver I use is certified eco silver - recycled and reclaimed by my bullion dealer, or made using my own scrap. In this ring, all the elements are certified eco silver.
I shaped the main band by beating it into submission and sent it off for assay after completion. It has a laser hall mark on the inside, including the 2022 jubilee mark (example of this shown at the end of the listing)
Because this is a little wider than usual, most people need to go up a half size or two when selecting one to wear, for ultimate comfort.
If you would like a ring sizer, you can order one in my other listings, at cost and I'll refund you if you then place an order for a ring from me
Sterling gemset Basso ring size R.5, Platinum Jubilee mark
Sterling Silver will eventually oxidise or tarnish. It's a natural process that can be slowed down by regular wear and by keeping unworn items away from the atmosphere. If you leave your jewellery out on display, this oxidisation will be faster. You can polish up your items, with a soft cloth, some silver polish, or a buffing cloth such as Town Talk, which is readily available from any high street jewellers in the UK
Fine silver is 99.9% silver, and because of this the tarnish rate is much, much slower. Again, a buff should do the job for polishing it back up. If I have patinated your silver already, be gentle when buffing!
Each piece should stand up to regular wear, but , as with all jewellery, please remove it before washing, using chemicals or applying perfume etc
Apply body lotion and perfume a few minutes before putting on your jewellery to help slow down tarnish
The sterling silver used in these items was sold to me by my bullion dealer ass certified recycled.
he gemstones I use have been sold to me by reputable dealers as untreated (unless stated specifically in the listing). They are a natural, organic creation from the earth and each one will be slightly different. You can see examples of this on my Facebook page.
I select the stones that I think go together best for each project, hence my comments that each item is individual.
