2026 #CheeryUppy Giveaway!
This year has been a rollercoaster for small jewellers already (and it's still only mid February!) Bullion prices peaked at a ridiculously high price at the end of January, and have now levelled out to merely triple the price I was paying for my wire and sheet at the end of 2025.
For a couple of weeks I was wondering if I should simply abandon the idea of making my more substantial pieces, but I gave myself a good talking to, had a splendid reflexology treatment (thanks Tola Health ) and decided to Pollyanna the situation.
I've had to adjust the pricing of items made to order, but you'll find that I've not repriced the bulk of the pieces I'm bringing to shows - only my really heavy items.
I've continued to make these dual purpose scarf pins / cable needles* in both sterling and copper - these will get their first outing on the 22nd February at Kernow Yarn and Fibre Festival.
Because I was feeling a bit hopeless**, what with that added to the general hideousness that seems to be the current political and environmental climate, I wanted to bring some #CheeryUppy to my daily life, and so I'm going to make a Christmas decoration similar to the one that I made MrG for his Christmas card this year (see photo to the right - the poor love always gets a homemade Crimbo card) and give it away to one of my website subscribers***
I'll be bringing sign up sheets to all the events I'm attending people to add details to, and there'll be a bonus entry if they make a purchase.
The people who've been kind enough to sign up already will automatically be entered (If you win and are overseas, don't worry postage is included) If you make another purchase either in person or on the website before the giveaway closes at the end of November 2026, you'll get a bonus entry.
You can sign up to my (extremely rare!) website newsletters at the bottom of my website contact page
*Feel free to bring your knitting and crochet to any of the events I'm attending so you can test out my tools before committing.
**I've stopped catastrophising now, no need to worry, thanks
***Open internationally, as indeed am I :-)
