Sawn from sheet, beaten and hammered to impart different textures, I dome the rose then solder a setting surrounded by tiny balls to the centre, before soldering the hidden bail to the back. That then goes for a tumble for an intital polish, before I set the gemstone. In this instance my customer opted for a 5mm, rose cut garnet cabochon, and also chose to have a light patination applied, which I do using liver of sulphur, neutralising and sealing the colour.

The colours achieved with this are always variable, yours will differ a little. Of course, you can opt to have it unpatinated, like the collage of this before patination and the coordinating drops in the final photo. Check my other listings for the earrings - drops and studs.

As with all my sterling pendants, this is made using recycled silver, in this instance, it was all the trimmings and offcuts of silver I'd saved and sent to a specialist for smelting and rolling back into sheet

I've used certified 925 sterling silver wire for the hidden bail

Dimensions for this piece are are 29mm x 28mm approximately, hanging at 5mm, and weighing 6.1g inclusinve of the garnet. Of course,  I can make it smaller or larger, depending on your wish, and I'd expect to adjust the price in line with the amount of silver used accordingly
Comes with a delicate rope chain, also sterling silver, in a length of your choosing

    Notes...

Photographed with a USA dime , 2 cent Euro and a UK penny for scale

Gemset, sterling silver, dog rose inspired pendant

    • Sterling Silver will eventually oxidise or tarnish. It's a natural process that can be slowed down by regular wear and by keeping unworn items away from the atmosphere. If you leave your jewellery out on display, this oxidisation will be faster.  You can polish up your items, with a soft cloth, some silver polish, or a buffing cloth such as Town Talk, which is readily available from any high street jewellers in the UK

Fine silver is 99.9% silver, and because of this the tarnish rate is much, much slower. Again, a buff should do the job for polishing it back up. If I have patinated your silver already, be gentle when buffing!

Each piece should stand up to regular wear, but , as with all jewellery, please remove it before washing, using chemicals or applying perfume etc

Apply body lotion and perfume a few minutes before putting on your jewellery to help slow down tarnish

The sterling silver used in these items was sold to me by my bullion dealer as certified recycled.

The gemstones I use have been sold to me by reputable dealers as untreated (unless stated specifically in the listing). They are a natural, organic creation from the earth and each one will be slightly different. You can see examples of this on my Facebook page.
I select the stones that I think go together best for each project, hence my comments that each item is individual.
