I made this as part of my #RingAMonth2020 challenge. The topic for November was Light and Dark, so I have played with the idea of piercing the shapes created by the texture I applied with my mill and a Jewellers Bench Texture Sheet.
This is a size P.5 (USA 8, Europe 57)
The band width is a shade over 12mm
This gives me exactly the kind of finish I wanted for the topic - interesting visual textures, dramatic yet being 5.3 grams in weight it is light enough not to require hallmarking (although I have had it hallmarked)
I’ve applied a colour using live of sulphur – a very traditional technique and the applied Renaissance Wax to give it some protection. This patination will eventually wear off with friction,(you can return it to me to reapply) but if you remove the ring when washing your hands that will prolong the life of the treatment - simply wash your ring gently and ideally leave it to air dry or try to pat it dry rather than rub it aggressively.
The ring is made from certified eco sterling silver - sold and recycled by my bullion dealer

Sterling Silver will eventually oxidise or tarnish. It's a natural process that can be slowed down by regular wear and by keeping unworn items away from the atmosphere. If you leave your jewellery out on display, this oxidisation will be faster. You can polish up your items, with a soft cloth, some silver polish, or a buffing cloth such as Town Talk, which is readily available from any high street jewellers in the UK
Fine silver is 99.9% silver, and because of this the tarnish rate is much, much slower. Again, a buff should do the job for polishing it back up. If I have patinated your silver already, be gentle when buffing!
Each piece should stand up to regular wear, but , as with all jewellery, please remove it before washing, using chemicals or applying perfume etc
Apply body lotion and perfume a few minutes before putting on your jewellery to help slow down tarnish
The sterling silver used in these items was sold to me by my bullion dealer ass certified recycled.
