  • I love a bespoke order, and this summer was asked to make a medium width band, scattered with colourful gemstones to bring cheer.

I shared the commission on my social media and it elicited a lot of interest, so I'm listing it as available to order, starting at £55 for a plain beaten band in the 4.7 x 2.5mm width.

It's a proper pick n mix style ring, so starts with a band of your choosing, (there are 3 different silver widths and thickness to choose from) which I'll make to your size and texture with my trusty hammer, then I'll flush set tiny gemstones around it. The one in the photos has 15 tiny stones, varying in size from 1.75 - 2.5mm and they are a mixture of London blue topaz, blue tourmaline, blue sapphire, green tourmaline, peridot, tsavorite, aquamarine, alexandrite, iolite and green sapphire. You could add diamonds, citrines, emeralds, labradorites or rubies to this list - just tell me what you'd like and I'll say if it's a stone suitable for this style of setting, and if I'll need to order it in. Allow between £10-£15 per stone over the cost of the ring band itself for standard stones. I've estimated a price for one stone in this listing, just to help you get an idea - and over estimated. Please send me a message with details of your wishes so I can give you an accurate price.

I keep a small selection of most of these stones in hand, otherwise I need to order them. This usually takes about a week. Turn around for making one of these for you would be about 10-14 working days (depending if I need to order in stones) from when we finalise your decision

These aren't hallmarked, as they are under the 7.78g exemption limit - however I can send yours off within my next batch to gain a full UK hallmark for an additional £15 fee

If you would like a ring sizer, you can order one in my other listings, at cost. I'll refund you if you then place an order for a ring from me

You can commission bespoke rings, with different stones - please contact me to tell me the stone / colour and size you would like, and I'll be able to advise if I have the stone in hand, or if I'll need to order it. Most stones vary in price depending on size, and also on the actual stone. Rubies and emeralds are usually more costly than garnet and peridot, for example and diamonds are a whole 'nother story ;-)

    • Sterling Silver will eventually oxidise or tarnish. It's a natural process that can be slowed down by regular wear and by keeping unworn items away from the atmosphere. If you leave your jewellery out on display, this oxidisation will be faster.  You can polish up your items, with a soft cloth, some silver polish, or a buffing cloth such as Town Talk, which is readily available from any high street jewellers in the UK

Fine silver is 99.9% silver, and because of this the tarnish rate is much, much slower. Again, a buff should do the job for polishing it back up. If I have patinated your silver already, be gentle when buffing!

Each piece should stand up to regular wear, but , as with all jewellery, please remove it before washing, using chemicals or applying perfume etc

Apply body lotion and perfume a few minutes before putting on your jewellery to help slow down tarnish

The sterling silver used in these items was sold to me by my bullion dealer ass certified recycled.

he gemstones I use have been sold to me by reputable dealers as untreated (unless stated specifically in the listing). They are a natural, organic creation from the earth and each one will be slightly different. You can see examples of this on my Facebook page.
I select the stones that I think go together best for each project, hence my comments that each item is individual.
